Well
here we are already 4 months into the new year. Can't believe how much time
flies. It's very true that you have to grasp hold of each day and make the
most of it these days.
Thanks for checking back into michaelking.com.au. I really
appreciate your support and interest in my music career. I'm very excited to
be starting a new year and looking forward to bringing you lots of news as it

SYDNEY
WAS A BLAST
Well
I am happy to announce that I have returned to Sydney to perform again and it
was wonderful. Thanks to Ben MacCauley and the MacCauleys Raiders (who are a
fine band) for having me again. It was wonderful to catch up with all my
Sydney fans again and perform for you. The shows were great and I especially
loved my show at Smithfield RSL. Thanks to all that came out and enjoyed a
wonderful afternoon. Stayed tuned to the website as we hope to be returning
later on in the year. Thanks again Sydney see you real soon I hope.
EMKAY
DUO and QUANDO DUO!
For
those of you who don't know about "Emkay" or "Quando" duo
then I am about to fill you in. I am delighted at times to be apart of a
regularly performing duo, well not just one but two. "Emkay" duo is
a group with my good friend Pam Spencer whom I have written award winning
songs with and have been friends with for some time now. We get the chance to
do gigs around Brisbane and even get to travel abroad to work. Pam Spencer is
the lead singer of the Award winning "Spencer Band" with her brother
and long time friend. Pam sings like and angel and is always turning heads
wherever we play. The duo is exciting and full of fun and cater for a large
variety of music. Make sure you check out below where we are playing. Or even
if you need a fun act for your next party or wedding etc then feel free top
contact me via the website.
I
also have the opportunity to work with my best mate of over 16 years Roy
Morris. I have had the pleasure of being his best man at his wedding and him
at mine. Roy is an accomplished performer around the Brisbane Clubs and has
also made quite a name for himself as a fine singer. Roy and I get to work as
"Quando Duo". We will be working quite a bit towards the later part
of the year so be sure to check out the website and find out where you can
catch us. Roy and i have played together in various bands and duos before.
CHANNEL
7 SUNRISE CHOIR!!!!
The
most exciting latest news was that I was selected by Chanel 7 Sunrise show to
be apart of the 8 piece choir that they were putting together to perform live
on national television the selected song "Seasons Of Love" from the
hit Broadway musical "Rent". Sunrise is the leading Australian
morning show programme and is hosted by David Koch and Mellissa Doyle. As part
of the selection I was flown down to Sydney to meet the 7 other members, (who
were all just amazing people). We were under the direction of Australia's' top
choir master George Tourbay. We spent the weekend rehearsing and amongst
rehearsals we were treated to dinner at the Summit Restaurant in Sydney at
over $250 a head and tickets to see the stage show musical "Chicago"
plus meet the cast. It was an amazing weekend and all topped off with our live
performance on the Monday morning. The vocal blend was just beautiful and we
had a really great time. The performance was a huge success , so much so that
we have been named the official Sunrise choir and are scheduled to make
another appearance in the next few months. So if you are a Sunrise viewer stay
tuned.

THE
YEAR AHEAD.....!!!!
The rest of the year see's no
slowing down of gigs around the place. It is exciting to be working more with
my good friend Pam Spencer and Best buddy Roy Morris. We are really getting a great repertoire of songs
together. Plus we have a lot of fun up on stage as you will see if you come
and watch us play.
No news yet on the Sunrise
choir performance. But hopefully I will have something at the next update.
